The TDLC and Kitasato University have teamed up to launch an ambitious blended learning program to train mother and child health care specialists in Mongolia.
Working with the Mongolian Nursing Association, local practitioners will participate in lectures via GDLN videoconference, fieldwork, and create a new textbook based on course material to meet local needs. A Mongolian version of the mother and child handbooks that are popularly used in Japan will also be created for public use.

Organized by the World Bank, FAO, OIE and the Tokyo Development Learning Center, this seminar series uses the GDLN as a learning and discussion platform to enable governments, donors, NGOs, and others to hold regular discussions on AHI preparedness.
In seminar 5, led by specialists from FAO, OIE and the World Bank, participants will discuss the use of poultry vaccination in the context of an overall AHI control program. The challenges of designing and implementing an Avian Influenza vaccination campaign will be discussed.
The seminar will be webcast live.

“The Second International Videoconference on Medical and Dental Education between Mongolia and Aichi” was held on September 20, 2005 connecting the TDLC, Aichigakuin University in Nagoya, and the World Bank Office in Mongolia. Co-organized by the Japanese Cleft Palate Foundation (JCPF) and Aichigakuin University, Aichi Medical University, Nagoya City University, Nagoya University and Fujita Health University, about 100 participants shared information on improving the condition of medical care in Mongolia.
