TDLC Hosts First in a Series of Anti-corruption Discussions
On Thursday July 11 the TDLC hosted the first of a series of GDLN-based discussions on identifying what does, and what does not, work in tackling corruption. The sessions are organized and managed by Dr. Jin Park from the Korea Development Institute and receive financial support from the TDLC and professional advice from the World Bank Institute.
In the first session, experts in Korea, Singapore, Australia, China and from the World Bank discussed lessons learned from efforts in their own countries in fighting corruption. In early September the entire East Asia and Pacific network is invited to meet via the GDLN to discuss regional approaches and experience gained in each country.
The participants are investigating suitable sponsorship in order to maintain regular region-wide dialogue using the GDLN as well as web-based discussions and knowledge sharing methods. This is a great example of how the EAP GDLN can be used to facilitate Asian-led discussion on key issues affecting the region.
