Report: 2010 Lecture Series “Asian Decent Work Agenda under Global Job Crisis”

International Labour Organization (ILO), Aoyama Gakuin University and The Tokyo Development Learning Center (TDLC) hosted a lecture series “Asian Decent Work Agenda under Global Crisis”. Each lecture started with an outline of ILO activities and an overview of the concept of Decent work by Director Hasegawa or Deputy-Director Hayashi from ILO Japan office, followed with talks by specialists from ILO Geneva or ILO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific through video conference connections. Lectures were concluded after an active Q&A session by the participants and the speakers. Lecture topics ranged from global trends of CSR and child labor to gender equality.

Students, NGO workers, public administrators, workers from private companies… about 50 participants attended the lectures each time. Many positive feedbacks were received from the participants, as this series is one of the rare opportunities to be able to listen to the experience from and ask questions to the specialists who are actively involved in the labor issues in ILO Bangkok regional office or ILO headquarter in Geneva.

Video archives for the following lectures are available:
